Emirates News Agency – Manarat Al Saadiyat.. Music in Arabic celebrates diversity and innovation in the Arab music scene

ABU DHABI, 23rd November, 2020 (WAM) — Manarat Al Saadiyat, affiliated to the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, will host tomorrow, “Mass in Arabic,” a live musical event that will take place over three days, from the 24th to the 26th of November.

Mas Music celebrates the diversity and innovation of the independent music scene in the Arab world, with artists from six Arab countries showcasing the unique artistic styles and talents of the region, seeking to highlight independent artists and the music they produce.

The list of participating artists in Mas Music in Arabic includes:

Yazan Sarayrah from Jordan is a singer and songwriter from Jordan, known for blending Bedouin rhythms with techno rhythms to provide a distinctive sound in the independent Arab music scene.

Almas is from the Emirates.. She is a 21-year-old rising Emirati talent who sings in both Arabic and English. She started her career at the age of 15 with a song called “Shu Aswi Beyah”, which has reached 29 million views on YouTube.

Oum from Morocco.. Umm Al-Ghaith Bint Al-Sahrawi, whose artistic name is Oum, is a Moroccan singer and songwriter. She is considered an ambassador of Moroccan culture. She participated in many international festivals, during which she presented a new model of Moroccan song mixed with Hassanian, jazz, Afrobeat and Sufi influences.

Donia Wael from Egypt.. Donia Wael is a rising Egyptian singer who is distinguished by her singing in the Egyptian dialect in addition to her poetic lyrics.

Traveling from Syria.. The band was founded in Damascus in 1999 by Wafi Abbas and Shadi Safadi. The band aims, through its songs, to revive the musical heritage of the region by presenting it with a contemporary vision.

Haya Zaatreh from Palestine.. Haya Zaatreh is a self-taught singer, songwriter and composer whose music is inspired by elements of the past. She is the co-founder of The Jam, a non-profit community project that aims to empower and promote the independent Palestinian music scene.

Stream from Jordan.. a musical duo consisting of singer-songwriter Ahmed Farah, and music producer and film director Bader Hilalat. The duo is known for their Arabic electronic pop music.

Ard Tut from Syria.. It is a Syrian Arab rock band from Majdal Shams, founded by brothers Hassan and Rami Nakhla. Although their music is inspired by a range of Western genres ranging from reggae, desert blues, rock, funk and disco, their approach has always been drawn from the musical roots of the Arab world and they have so far released three albums, “NuriAndaburi”, “Laissez Passer” and “Migrant Birds”. “.

Rasha Nahhas from Palestine.. Rasha has been crafting tunes since time immemorial, moving seamlessly between the rhythms of rock and roll and the reckless echoes of free jazz, all complemented by her distinctive approach to songwriting and performance. The multi-instrumentalist began her musical career as a guitarist at the age of ten.
