During the altercation which would have degenerated, the victim suffered a blow injury from a sharp object on the part of a suspect, said SPVM spokesperson Raphaël Bergeron.

This one, practically the same age as the victim, would have fled on foot, according to the SPVM, specifying that the victim was transported to the hospital in a critical condition.

The police have been dispatched to the scene where they can view the surveillance cameras to try to identify the suspect.

Rue Saint-Jacques was closed between rue Saint-Ferdinand and rue Saint-Philippe for much of the night.
