A mission from the National Program for the Fight once morest Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV/AIDS, led by its director, Raïssa Okouyi Ndong Assapi, has just visited the province of Nyanga. Purpose of this mission: to measure the level of execution of care for people living with HIV/AIDS in this region where, according to a joint WHO-PNLS report, it is indicated that 900 AIDS patients in Nyanga have lost seen at the Outpatient Treatment Center (CTA) in Tchibanga. That is 503 for 2019, and 397 in 2022.
The situation is worrying. Both these sick people who are in nature, constitute a danger for themselves and for others, in case they come to consent to unprotected sexual intercourse. Thereupon, the director of the PNLS visited 7 health facilities in Nyanga: the Benjamin Ngoubou Regional Hospital Center (CHR), the CNSS, the CTA (Tchibanga), and the medical centers of Moabi (Douigny) and of Mayumba (Lower Banio). Before continuing his mission in Gamba, in the department of Ndougou, province of Ogooué-Maritime.
Anomalies have been reported. Compliance with the antiretroviral (ARV) treatment protocol is not respected enough. Including the feasibility of certain examinations such as the viral load, CD4 and others… Mission was thus given to the agents to multiply the awareness campaigns in order to further educate the populations on the importance of screening and antiretroviral treatment to limit the transmission.
