Poland failed to beat Mexico as they entered Group C of the 2022 World Cup. Robert Lewandowski, who missed a penalty, and his teammates drew 0-0 at 974 Stadium in Doha.
This part turned out to be very disappointing. One of the rare emotions occurred in the 58th minute when goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa (37) brilliantly diverted a penalty kick kicked by Lewandowski. For the rest, the Mexicans never managed to move the solid opposing defensive organization despite possession of the ball largely in their favor. Wojciech Szczesny thus had to make only one save worthy of the name, on a shot from Edson Alvarez deflected from the head by Henry Martin (64th).
