SHARJAH, 22nd November, 2020 (WAM) — Al-Majaz Theater of the Sharjah Government Media Office launched the first-of-its-kind “Mubadarat” program to motivate talents and university students in the UAE in arts, design and architecture disciplines, as part of its commitment to support social responsibility activities and programmes.
The “Mubadarat” program provides the opportunity for students to present their creative perceptions to create an installation artistic design for the theater, which will be installed in the center of Al Majaz Island in Sharjah until January 14 of next year, so that the winning work will be chosen in March 2023.
Al Majaz Theater in Sharjah is considered one of the most important cultural, cultural and artistic landmarks in the Emirate of Sharjah and the region. It annually attracts thousands of visitors and hosts a group of the most important artists, influencers and official figures.
Her Excellency Alia Al Suwaidi, Director of the Media Office of the Government of Sharjah, said that the “Initiatives” program is part of Al Majaz Theater’s plans to support creative talents. She indicated that the winning work will be adopted in the form of a monument at the entrance of the theater to be a symbol of the creativity of talents in the UAE, by perpetuating the name of the participant and the university. In addition to the winning work, which will be announced in various media.
Al Suwaidi invited art, design and architecture students from all universities in the country to participate in the program that supports their talents, so that they can unleash their imaginations and present their perceptions of an installation artwork that Sharjah embraces within its distinguished memorial edifices.
The application for participation in the “Mobadarat” program is submitted via e-mail: [email protected], by providing an overview of the proposed installation concept and information of the applicant, and including the proposed design for an installation work in a special file, taking into account the special requirements listed on the website of Al Majaz Theater https://almajazamphitheater.ae /.
It is mentioned that the proposed materials must be mentioned in the submitted design, taking into account the external weather factors, the dimensions of the installation work, and any other details related to the production of the work. The installation work can be static, movable, or interactive.
