The National Union of Public Employees of SENA -SINDESENA, with indignation and concern, categorically rejects the death threats received yesterday by the fellow union leader and president of the Atlántico branch ALEJANDRO OLASCUAGA, whom by email They send him a pamphlet in which they threaten him and his family, the document has logos and appears signed by the so-called BLOCK CENTRAL DE LAS ÁGUILAS NEGRAS, to which are attached photos of the compañero’s residence and of a place where runs a family business; Additionally, in said pamphlet, they claim to know the names of his wife and his two children. The pamphlet states the following: “We have declared Mr. Alejandro Olascuaga a military objective, who in his role as a teacher and social and union leader is the creator of youth resistance in the Caribbean, apart from being the leader of the guerrilla group PACTO HISTÓRICO, is in charge of mobilizing the students he indoctrinates in the SEINE.” Dated in the month of November 2022.
The threats once morest SINDESENA union leaders in recent months have been characterized by their attempt to intimidate the critical voices that express themselves in favor of the construction of a more inclusive country, which contributes from comprehensive professional training to an integrating vision of the nation project, in function of defending the public, training and free quality education.
From SINDESENA we reiterate our rejection of these methods, while we call on the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation to carry out the pertinent and timely investigations of these events. We demand that the Atlántico Governorate, the Ministry of the Interior, the National Protection Unit and other competent entities guarantee the protection of the life, integrity and peace of mind of compañero ALEJANDRO OLASCUAGA and his relatives, while providing the necessary conditions so that can materialize the free political and union exercise; We also request the General Directorate of SENA to assist with all defense mechanisms in the face of this serious death threat and the immediate adoption of administrative measures.
