The joint committees are studying the capital control.. The monetary fund is a necessity!

The joint parliamentary committees held a session to follow up the research on the Capital Control project in Al-Najma Square.

Deputy Prime Minister Representative Elias Bou Saab confirmed, following the session, that “we will discuss the article concerned with establishing a special committee for Capital Control.” He continued, “I am one of the depositors, and I know their true cry.”

Bou Saab said, “Capital Control will protect the rights of depositors, and it will organize transfers abroad, and we will not tire of discussing it.” He added, “The International Monetary Fund (IMF) today, on our Lebanese terms, is a necessity.”

For his part, Representative George Adwan indicated, “We do not want to legislate the violations included in the draft Capital Control Law, and from here we do not want to legislate the way a banking platform works, nor create a new similar platform, and the deposits must be returned, either in an amount equal to their value or in the currency of deposit.”
