Thrissur – The accused who was declared a fugitive by the court in the case of abducting and sexually harassing a schoolgirl is in custody. Jinto Kuryan (36), a native of Thrissur Alur Vellachira Parakkal, was arrested by the Tadiittaparam police. The incident related to the case was in 2015.

A school student was kidnapped following establishing a relationship through Facebook. He then sexually assaulted her and left her at the Chalakudy railway station. Jinto was arrested on the same day and remanded. The charge sheet was also filed in time. Meanwhile, the accused, who got bail, went absconding. With this, a special team was formed to catch Jinto.

After absconding in Andaman and Nicobar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai, he was arrested from Kalpetta in Wayanad. He had been working there as an aluminum fabricator for a month. He was caught by the police while trying to cross from Kalpatta to Bengaluru.

Under the supervision of Perumbavoor ASP Anuj Paliwal, SHO VM Karsan, Sub-Inspector OV Sajan, Senior Civil Police Officers AR Jayan, PM Shamir, Mahin Shah, CPO Bobby T. Elias and others arrested the accused.
