OAXACA, Oax. November 18, 2022.- Daniela Juárez Espinosa, an undergraduate intern doctor at the Anahuac Oaxaca University (UAO), has been recognized as one of the best 40 students in the country, out of more than 3,000 doctors in training from 104 Universities of Mexico and Latin America, in the Third International Award for Student Medical Merit, organized by the Medical Alliance, in collaboration with the Japanese Medical Institute, Prometeo Health Group, New York Academy of Sciences, Charisma University of England and the Albert Einstein University, incorporated into the Unesco.
The objective of the contest is to exalt the values of medicine and recognize the role of the doctor in training in society, for the construction of a new, more efficient and human health model, Anáhuac Oaxaca reported in a statement.
“The participants in this award were from different states of the country, with me being the only contender from the state of Oaxaca. The stages of this contest were varying in degree of difficulty”
Daniela’s participation began in February of last year, passing 4 stages, where she demonstrated her academic excellence.
In the first, he accredited the course “Theoretical-Practical Fundamentals of Distance Medical Care, AMAD”, taught by Harvard University, where 3,103 participants were eliminated.
In the second, he wrote five essays that were evaluated by the Academic Committee and Honorary Council of the Medical Alliance, made up of leaders of Medicine at a national and international level, such as Dr. Mario Acosta Mejía.
163 doctors went to the next stage; In this, Daniela collaborated in assisted training for total health, through talks on prevention issues for the non-medical population, then met online with National Leaders of the Medical Alliance and “Great Masters of Medicine of Mexico ”, speaking regarding metabiomedicine.
“My participation in this award was one of the most pleasant experiences of my academic life, I was able to meet various students from the country and the world, as well as doctors who are willing to change the paradigm of medicine to make it more humane”, shared.
Currently, Daniela is in the Hospital General León, in Guanajuato, doing the year of internship. From the classroom, she showed interest in scientific activities, along with two other classmates, she obtained an honorable mention in the Turkish Journal of Pathology 2020 and first place in the 2020 UNAM histology festival.
“I think that the training I had at the Anáhuac Oaxaca University during my academic life gave me the necessary tools in knowledge and also in alternatives for a world that is constantly evolving every day, to be able to see the person as a biopsychosocial being, but above all, with a human sense”, he concluded.
