In the early hours of November 5, an event occurred that alerted the entire champetero union, since the most recognized picotero in Cartagena, Dj Chawala, had been the victim of friends of aliens: his truck was stolen. It happened while Chawa was in a presentation in Barranquilla, specifically in the “La ocho” zone.
Just as they were leaving the nightclub, Noraldo Iriarte Arias, Chawala’s given name, and his manager noticed the absence of the vehicle, and immediately notified the National Police, who began searching to find the van. . On November 16, Dj Chawala announced with great joy that his truck was recovered. The news was delivered through a live stream on his official Facebook account around 7 p.m. It is speculated that the truck would have been recovered a few days following the theft, but it would not have been announced so as not to interrupt the legal procedures that this type of case entails.
In the live video, which lasted 27 minutes, the founder of the picó el Rey de Rocha told his followers that he felt very grateful to everyone for their support and words of encouragement, in addition, he revealed that he did not have to pay “not one peso” for recovering his truck, he even stressed that he “has no money”, as many on social networks were speculating, because they said that he “had enough to buy another truck.”
The vehicle only had the license plates removed, but it was found in perfect condition.
Now, the artist assured that he is calm, since he confessed that this situation kept him with a great level of stress, not specifically because of the material, but because of the sentimental value that the truck has, since it is in the name of his daughter Ángela Inés Go Correa. “Thank you, Colombia, thanks to my people from Barranquilla… I had a presentiment that they were going to take her away and I didn’t want to go to Barranquilla, I left at 10 at night… My advice to artists is that if they are indisposed, better don’t go, because sometimes they are messages from God,” Chawala pointed out.
