Yuki Tsunoda “I couldn’t progress this far without Pierre Guthrie” / 2022 F1 Abu Dhabi GP[F1-Gate.com]

Yuki Tsunoda (Scuderia AlphaTauri) spoke regarding his enthusiasm for the 2022 F1 final round Abu Dhabi GP.

The F1 Abu Dhabi GP will be the last race as a teammate with Pierre Guthrie, who has been together since his debut in 2021. The duo, considered the biggest promance on the F1 grid, will be dissolved.

Yuki Tsunoda said he would like to thank Pierre Gasly and enjoy the final race together.

“São Paulo was a difficult time from the start as we mightn’t find any grip. Even if we had to start from the pitlane, being able to completely change the set-up of the car before the race helped a little bit. Well, we weren’t completely satisfied with the car yet, so I hope we can find a solution to improve the feeling of the car for this final round,” said Yutaka Tsunoda. Takeshi commented.

“Last year in Abu Dhabi was a great weekend for me. I have very happy memories of the way the season ended there. A great result to end my first year in Formula 1. Qualifying 8th and Pierre. It was a great team result to finish just one place ahead of us in fourth place. I felt like I was able to show what I might do and show the team the confidence I had built up to the end of the year.”

“I hope we can do the same thing this time, but last year’s car was better than this year, so I don’t expect much. The Yas Marina Circuit is very tricky and tire degradation in the final sector can be a problem, so the setup has to be somewhere in between. You can’t do a perfect setup.”

“I will miss Pierre. He was a really good teammate on and off the track. Off the track we became real friends and had a great relationship professionally. I learned a lot from him during the race, without him I wouldn’t have made as much progress as I did, so I’m really grateful to him and can’t wait to spend this final race weekend with him. I hope
