Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has become isolated in his team, Manchester United, following the controversial interview he conducted, on Sunday, with British journalist Piers Morgan, to the extent that he was excluded from the “WhatsApp” group of the English team.
And the Catalan newspaper “Sport” said that the managers of the Manchester United players group on the “WhatsApp” application excluded the Portuguese striker.
The newspaper pointed out that players Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay are responsible for excluding Cristiano Ronaldo from the team’s communication group.
Ronaldo said regarding his coach, Eric ten Hag, in a controversial interview with Piers Morgan: “I don’t respect him because he doesn’t show me any respect. If you don’t respect me, I will never respect you.”
There is no doubt that Ronaldo’s statements sparked a lot of controversy within Manchester United, and it is possible that the former Real Madrid and Juventus striker will leave during the next winter transfer period.
Ronaldo, 37, joined the Portugal squad preparing for the World Cup next week, and will return to Manchester United following the end of the tournament on December 20.
United return to action on December 26, six days following the World Cup final was held in Qatar.
