The irruption of the covid pandemic in 2020 placed the health sector, more than ever, in the first informative focus.
Researchers, doctors, nurses… became the specialists most consulted and demanded by the media and by society in general.
His great work, which had previously been in the background in the eyes of a large part of the citizenry, became the protagonist of the moment.
However, the work of the world of health and sanitation did not exactly start during the pandemic. Throughout centuries, and especially in recent times, research and innovation in medical terms has become one of the main guarantees of increasing the quality and life expectancy of people.
Prensa Ibérica now wants to honor all those healthcare professionals who, through their work, have made significant progress in our society.
The appointment will honor different doctors and teams from various Valencian hospitals and centers
For it, Lift-EMV has launched the first Prensa Ibérica Awards for Innovation in Medicine in the province of Valencia. The delivery of these awards will take place on Tuesday, November 29, at a special gala dinner to be held at Biohub VLC, in the Marina de València.
The awards will be divided into ten categories with which Prensa Ibérica wants to cover the medical profession as much as possible.
The winners have been selected by a jury authorized for the occasion in which the College of Physicians of Valencia, the Ministry of Health, scientific societies, the private sector and the newspaper itself have been represented. Levante-EMVwho have decided who will be the first winners of these Valencia Medicine Innovation Awards.
The first winners
The Dr. Juan Martinez Leonprofessor of Surgery at the University of Valencia (UV) and head of the Cardiac Surgery service at Hospital La Fe de València, will be awarded the Prize for innovation in Care of Cardiovascular Diseases.
In Oncologythe prize will go to the Dr. Andrés Cervantes RupérezProfessor of Medicine at the UV and head of the Medical Oncology service at the Hospital Clínico Universitario de València.
For his part, he Dr. Juan Francisco Vázquez Costacoordinator neurologist of the Motor Neuron Diseases Unit of Hospital La Fe de València, will be awarded the Prize for Innovation in Neurosciences.

In the Care of Musculoskeletal Diseasesthe prize will go to the Miss Teresa Basclinical chief of the Adult and Child Spine Unit of La Fe.
The Dr. Marina Berenguerhepatologist at La Fe, professor and head of the accredited group of Hepatology and Clinical Transplantation at IIS La Fe, will be awarded the Prize for Innovation in Medical-Clinical Areas.
The award in the Care of Diseases typical of Surgical and Medical-Surgical Pathologies will fall on the Dr. Rafael Badenes Quiles, responsible for the Mobile ECMO for Transplants of the Valencian Community and head of the Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Pain Therapy service of the Clinical Hospital.
The Dr. José Remohí Giménezpresident of the Valencian Infertility Institute (IVI) and professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Valencia, will receive the Award for Innovation in Women’s Health Care.
Regarding the category of Pediatrics and Specific Pediatric Areasthe jury has selected as the winner the Dr. Javier Díez Domingopediatrician and medical doctor who now directs the Fisabio Vaccine Research Area (AIV).
The Dr. Luis Martí Bonmatídirector of the clinical area of Medical Imaging and the Biomedical Imaging Research Group (GIBI230) of La Fe, will be awarded the prize at the Diagnostic imaging.
Lastly, the Award for Innovation in Primary and Outpatient Care will be for the team Primary Care of the Fuensanta Health Centerlocated in Valencia.
