Charlotte Inga is a Chilean tiktoker who is dedicated to creating content regarding her daily life, quite full of trips, parties and luxuries. A few days ago, the woman revealed that she lived an awkward situation with a migration officer in the Miami airport.
Apparently, the questions he asked her were not to her liking and she felt attacked. The young woman decided to share it with her virtual community to receive opinions, since he considered that Latinos are commonly “discriminated” by airport police.
His experience occurred when he arrived in Miami for a layover, although he did not mention what his final destination was. There she had to go through security checkpoints, where the immigration agent asked her regarding the details of her trip: “They always ask you a thousand questions because they believe that one’s only dream is to come to the United States”, he reported on his account @charlotteinga.
Since I was traveling alone thought it would be more suspicious to US authorities. That, together with the attitude of the uniformed man, increased his nervousness: “I tried to play nice because these guys are always so heavy”she said in a still shocked tone. She believed that she alone would have to pass the filter, but she did not imagine what she was regarding to happen to her.
The same policeman who asked her the questions to determine whether to let her enter the country or not, ended up asking her if you didn’t want to go out for a drink. Charlotte was stunned because she knew that this request was not part of immigration control, but at the same time she tried to be kind to avoid being prevented from entering the United States.
Due to the surprise, the only thing he might do at that moment was tell him he wouldn’t be there for long. However, the officer insisted and replied that when he returned to Miami once more they might finalize the plan: “Yes, I’m going back because I want to go see some land, but maybe I’ll come with my boyfriend”, was what the Latina replied with the hope that she would stop her courtship at that moment.
To his bad luck, this continued and even escalated until he asked for his WhatsApp number. The content creator refused to give it to her because it seemed quite strange to her and also considered that she was not serious, but in reality she did want it: “I thought they were just jokes until it got serious”he recounted.
