NHL: Sharks ready to listen for Erik Karlsson trade

Unlike the rest of the San Jose Sharks, the defenseman Eric Carlson is having a good start to the season, so he might give his general manager some work.

The hockey informant of TSN Chris Johnston made it known during the segment Insider Trading that the team’s general manager, Mike Grier, said he was ready to listen to offers if some of his colleagues called to try to obtain Karlsson’s services.

The 32-year-old defender commands an annual salary of $11.5 million until the end of the 2026-2027 campaign. Johnston also recalls that he has a non-movement clause which limits the work of his general manager.

Karlsson has already amassed 10 goals and 12 assists in 17 games this season. Last season, he had 35 points in 50 games.

The Sharks have won just five in 17 games this season for sixth place in the Pacific Division.
