Al-Marsad Newspaper: The writer, Mashari Al-Dhaidi, shed light on the dialogue that took place between the artist, Muhammad Abdo, and the young man, Ayed Al-Qarni, regarding his name, as part of the concert that the Arab artist revived during the Riyadh season.
Al-Zaidi said in his article published in Asharq Al-Awsat, under the title “Muhammad Abdo and Ayed Al-Qarni”: In the concert that the most famous Saudi artist, and the great Arab, Muhammad Abdo revived, among the joys of the Riyadh season, the young Saudi artist “Ayed” was accompanied by him on theatre, so that Muhammad Abdo surprised everyone with this revealing improvisational dialogue:
radio
Muhammad Abdo asks the Saudi artist, Is this your real name, “Ayed”? The young man proudly replied, “Yes, it is my name.” As if Muhammad Abdo wanted him to have an artistic name that he would be famous for.
He added, then moved on to a story that is the reason for writing the article today, saying that at the beginning he went to Saudi Radio in order to record him as an artist, but the broadcasting committee asked him to change his name, to another artistic name, so Abdo rejected the offer, and said I will not change my name, And take your papers. Then, following a while, he discovered the reason for the request, according to his understanding at the time, which is that the Grand Mufti of Egypt during the days of King Fouad – the narration is still going on for our Saudi artist – is the Egyptian Sheikh Muhammad Abdo.
And he added, then “Abu Noura” moved to the moment of surprise, to say that the matter is back today, with the artist Ayed, as I, the writer of this article, just discovered that the creative young man Ayed belongs to the noble Arab tribe of Qarn, so he is Ayed Al-Qarni.
the awakening
And he added, but he is not Ayed al-Qarni, the star and preacher of the “awakening” stage in Saudi Arabia, and he is the owner of battles, arrivals and tours with the opponents of the “awakening” from Ghazi Al-Qusaibi to Turki Al-Hamad, to others, to artists, led by Muhammad Abdo.
And the writer continued, mentioning Ghazi Al-Qusaibi, the Saudi minister, writer, poet, novelist, administrator, statesman, and diplomat. One of the most famous stories narrated regarding him is a story that happened to him with the star of the Saudi Awakening, and even the international Salman Al-Awda, whom Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, the jurist of the Muslim Brotherhood, used to say regarding him: I see in it myself.
The writer stated that the story is as it appeared in the Elaph electronic newspaper on August 16, 2003: “They say that Dr. Ghazi Al-Qusaibi, when Al-Sahawi embraced Sheikh Salman Al-Awda at the Crown Prince’s house, following the end of the national dialogue rounds that were held in Riyadh weeks ago, He initiated a verse of poetry saying: O man who loosens his turban, this is your time, for my time has passed.
Al-Dhaidi pointed out that the house, as we know, is of the poet Jarir – with a distortion of some of his words in impotence – he said it to the jurist Rajaa bin Haywa, in the council of the Umayyad caliph Umar bin Abdul Aziz, who brought the clergy closer and distanced the poets, saying: This is your time, so you will permit us a lifetime.
The writer pointed out: We do not know the authenticity of the story, the story of Ghazi and Salman al-Awda, but the audience of the awakening at that time every bird flew with it, and they do not know that there will come a time when they include their turbans and do not loosen them, and they search for another creation to cover their heads!
suffering
And the writer said: Muhammad Abdo concluded with a sentence that seems to come out from the heart of self-suffering when he said: God knows who is the spoiler and who is the reformer!
He concluded by saying: This “fresh” story that we told you from Riyadh reaffirms, time following time, the necessity of documenting the stage of awakening, which had a great impact on Saudi society, in a comprehensive, documentary, dramatic and scientific way, because it has not died yet… and it will not die.
