Prosecutors have sought a prison sentence for former YG Entertainment executive producer Yang Hyun-suk, who was handed over to trial for allegedly threatening a member of his idol group for drug use.

At the trial for former executive producer Yang, which was held at the hearing of the 23rd Division of Criminal Settlement of the Seoul Central District Court, the prosecution said, “Icon, which successfully evaded drug investigations in the early stages of the investigation, was successful in Korea and Japan and made huge economic profits. I got it” and asked the court to sentence Yang Hyun-suk to three years in prison.

Yang said that in 2016, when Han Seo-hee, who was a singer trainee, made a statement regarding the alleged purchase of drugs by ‘icon’ B.I and Kim Han-bin at the time, he called Han to the YG Entertainment office building and forced him to reverse his statement, saying, “You are the only one Killing is not a thing.” He is accused of threatening.

Yang has always denied the charges during the trial, and even in his final statement, he insisted, “Because of his personality, I can’t even think of saying that to Han Seo-hee, who is not a celebrity.”

The judge is scheduled to pronounce the verdict in Yang’s case on the 22nd of next month.
