We accompany them in his pain and in prayer, ”expressed former president Iván Duque on his Twitter account.
Similarly, the governor of Santander Mauricio Aguilar wrote on his twitter account: “Sadness overwhelms us by the death of BG. Samuel Bernal, a commander willing to help citizens, whoWho worked for security in #Bucaramanga. May God receive him in his Holy Glory, a hug of condolences to his Mrs. Wife and her family. RIP”.
Samuel Darío Bernal was in good retirement following providing 30 years of service in the police institution. He was in charge of the police aviation and served as National Anti-Narcotics Deputy Director. Between July 2021 and June 2022, the former general directed the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police.
It is important to note that Bernal was born in ChiquinquiráBoyacá and had graduated as a business administrator and a master’s degree in public safety.
A few months ago Bernal’s eldest daughter, who had five children, had also died of heart failure.
