The 93 men who are called Semen and other strange names from Europe to Chile | Society

When the birth of a boy or girl approaches, names become a whole theme in the family. Sometimes, in these you compete to make your bet materialize forever in your loved one who is regarding to be born. However, others, like those called Semen, evidently didn’t fare as well in that regard.

This is an unprecedented event, in a country where there are citizens who bear in their names the weight of their parents’ decision when they go to the Civil Registry to register them.

And it is that, being born through sperm, should not be the same as carrying its meaning, every time a human sees fit to call another by an unconventional name.

It is precisely the life of almost a hundred men who experience it firsthand. Nobody thought regarding them and the consequences.

They are called Semen and there are not a few: there are 93 in various cities

While a Civil Registry denied a mother the name she had thought of for her newborn daughter, the story of the 93 men called Semen also came.

The event took place in Spain, where a woman wanted to name her little girl Hazia. The registry magistrate flatly refused and explained that in Spanish it means seed. And not only that. Also, Semen. Hence her refusal, according to what was published in the local media The Spanish.

The situation, however, becomes ironic, since on almost a hundred occasions the same authorities allowed parents to give semen to their children.

The aforementioned newspaper assured that some of these acts occurred in 3 large Spanish cities, marking the lives of their bearers forever.

30 of the men live in Alicante, 14 in Barcelona, 5 in Murcia. They complete the list, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE) of Spain, provinces such as Girona Málaga and Valencia.

Half of those who are called Semen are 26 years old, since it was at the end of the 90’s when this “name” became popular, without its bearers having the slightest idea of what awaited them in the world.

In the 1980s, only 13 children were baptized like this, versus another 7, between 1950 and 1960. It should be noted that Semen is not prohibited as a name in Spain, according to article 54 of the current law (since 1957). Those that are not accepted for any reason are: Lucifer, Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, Apple, Samsung o Nike.

Circumcision: the girl baptized like this, in a place in South America

The news portal Time confirmed a series of very peculiar names, within the framework of the birth of 650 thousand people in that territory, during 2018.

Circumcision was one of these, reported by the National Administrative Department of Statistics, which in turn announced that a year later
a child was registered under the name Max Müller, for a possible homage to the German philosopher Friedrich Max Müller (19th century).

However, it is not clear why the aforementioned girl was named following the surgical procedure to cut a portion or all of the foreskin of the penis in men.

The other young people who are called Semen or the girl called Circumcision (who should be 2 years old), are not unique when it comes to sharing names that are as particular as they are rare. Like the first, there is another young woman in Colombia who was born 20 years ago in Santa Ana de Magdalena. If only she had been given any of those city names, she wouldn’t be news at this point in her life.

Her parents decided to call her 6, because she was the sixth child of a couple from that town, in northeastern Colombia. Her full name is 6 Martínez Medina.

Peru: the funny combinations of names and surnames

Spain surprised with the 93 men who are called Semen. Colombia has its thing with the woman called Circumcision.

However, Peru is not far behind since infobae unveiled the strangest combination of peculiar names and surnames in this South American territory.

The sample presents variety. For example, the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (RENIEC) confirmed that a woman, whose first surname is Fuertes, was called Dolores. Yes, she is now known as Dolores Fuertes.

Among others, of the most common, Ana Flores del Campo. It is a situation that due to its rarity only has to do with the combination of surnames.

The opposite happens with another of those who were released. It turns out that in Peru, there is the surname Tomía. A woman’s family let slip that calling her Ana would give way to a humorous Ana Tomía.

But, if it is regarding going to the extreme, a woman adopted the married name, perhaps without considering that the combination with the maiden name would play an eternal trick on her, at least as long as she remains in a married union. Now she is known as Ana Mier de Cilla.

Chile: where they are not called Semen, but there are peculiar names

already informed Third, in 2012, regarding the strange names that have been placed in this long stretch of South America for years. One of them, in the Metropolitan Region, placed the child who, by decision of his parents, honors her country. Yes, they decided to call it Chile.

It is not unique in its situation, since although the others do not have the same name, they do carry ones that distinguish them from the rest.

Hussein (like the overthrown and deceased Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein), is part of the payroll in the Chilean Civil Registry. He is accompanied by others like Iker, like the former goalkeeper of the Spanish team and Real Madrid.

“This is what happens, for example, with names that come out of common use or those that are associated with a social moment. The same happens with the meanings and combinations of the names are the result of a certain moment.declared the then director of the institution, Rodrigo Durán López.

He verified his sayings, that another Chilean child was baptized as Franchescoli, in honor of the Uruguayan striker Enzo Francescoli, who retired from professional football in 1998.

From Harley (Quinn) to Thor in Chile

Several years later, BioBioChile reported that the situation continued to occur in some homes in this country.

In 2016, and inspired by Star Wars, in 4 homes the children were registered as Luke, in another 3 they welcomed their little daughter, christening her (princess) Leia and there was only one Han.

Speaking of inspiration, Game of Thrones was for Chilean fans, to the point where some of them decided to name their daughters Daenerys, Daenarys and/or Khaleesi. There are 7 girls in total who, for 6 years, have carried these names.

Of the most spectacular, according to the cinematographic inspiration, some boys and girls were officially registered as Harley (by Suicide Squad); Thor, as the Marvel avenger; Tarzan and Moana, for the Disney movies. The parents who placed names of professional and international soccer players, such as the local Gary (for Gary Medel), the Brazilian Neymar or Zlatan, for the Croatian Ibrahimovic, were not far behind.

However, and without hesitation, the greatest confusion continues to be the 93 Spanish men who are called Semen. It is an “achievement” that others, in the rest of the nations, cannot unlock and, without fear of making a mistake, we are sure that they do not want it either.
