“For good reasons”
FCL postpones GV at the last second
The Extraordinary General Meeting scheduled for November 3 will not take place. The Board of Directors wrote in a statement.
There is no extraordinary general assembly on Thursday.
Everyone in central Switzerland expected the big bang on Thursday. And then that. The extraordinary general meeting of FCL Holding AG will be postponed to an unknown date. The Board of Directors wrote in a statement.
On Wednesday, minority shareholder Josef Bieri submitted a request to Bernhard Alpstaeg and FCL Holding AG for the enactment of precautionary measures. This procedure is still pending. The notification also states that this application asserts that the applications submitted by Bernhard Alpstaeg contradict the applicable agreements and the assurances given.
“It is within the competence of the board of directors, if there are good reasons, as is the case here, to postpone a scheduled general meeting,” the board of directors announced.
The good reason is probably a broken agreement on the part of Bernhard Alpstaeg. At least that’s how the media release should be interpreted. As has already been reported several times, the two shareholders Alpstaeg and Bieri agreed in February 2021 that the board of directors would be given the power to decide autonomously on the appointment and suspension of managers at FC Luzern. This also includes the personnel of the sports director. As is well known, the board of directors refused to dismiss Remo Meyer, contrary to Bernhard Alpstaeg’s instructions.
The big bang in Central Switzerland does not materialize and the FCL dispute goes into overtime. Incidentally, the ordinary general meeting of FC Luzern-Innerschweiz AG will take place as planned. And the “Zäme more than 52%” fan campaign is still calling for people to come to the Swissporarena on Thursday evening.
Bernhard Alpstaeg has to postpone his plans until further notice.
