A state of wide controversy caused by the series “The Weeping Laughing”, which witnesses the return of director Mohamed Fadel to drama once more, and presents through the work the story of the late Najib Al-Rihani.

The Egyptian artist Amr Abdel Jalil presents the role of Al-Rihani, while the controversy is regarding the character presented by the artist, Ferdous Abdel Hamid, the wife of director Mohamed Fadel, who is returning following an absence to the drama.

Ferdous Abdel Hamid presented through his work the role of “Latifa Bahlaq”, the mother of Najib Al-Rihani, which caused some of her to laugh, and the nature of the role she presents and the fact that it does not suit her at the present time.

This caused the emergence of campaigns to defend Ferdous Abdel Hamid by her colleagues, most notably the famous artist, who published on her Facebook account a picture of the duo Fadel and Ferdous Abdel Hamid.

Shahira congratulated the duo on the new series, and on Mohamed Fadel’s return to drama once more, considering that this matter “represents an honor for the drama,” and described Ferdous Abdel Hamid as “great”, stressing that she enjoys her art.

She demanded that they not pay attention to “bullying and ridiculous campaigns”, especially since this matter “has become commonplace on social media, where “there is no longer any respect or appreciation, unfortunately.” Which does not happen, according to Shahira.

This matter was agreed with her son, writer Amr Mahmoud Yassin, who wrote to congratulate the duo regarding the series, and touched on what was said regarding Ferdous Abdel Hamid.

Amr Mahmoud Yassin stressed that “it is necessary to speak with respect regarding artistic statures.”

The artist Salwa Muhammad Ali also joined the supporters of Ferdous Abdel Hamid, and wrote on “Facebook”: “Firdous Abdel Hamid is a great teacher, oh, oh… the most well-known actress who has feelings for her voice… Just listening to her voice conveys a deep feeling.”

Salwa Muhammad Ali defended Ferdous Abdel Hamid and her artistic history, in light of the campaigns she has been exposed to through social media since the first episodes of the series were shown.
