Sharjah, October 26 / WAM/ The Sharjah Private Education Authority concluded the activities of the “Scientific Forum for Talent”, which was held at the headquarters of the Sharjah Academy in cooperation with the Hamdan Bin Rashid Foundation for Excellence in Educational Performance, one of the leading institutions in the field of care and education of the gifted, with the participation of a group of experts, specialists and researchers in Fields of education and upbringing of the gifted.
The forum activities included a review of the latest studies and research specialized in the field of discovering and caring for the gifted, in addition to a package of workshops attended by faculty and parents of students.
Abdullah Al-Marzouqi, educational advisor at the Sharjah Private Education Authority, said that holding the forum in cooperation with the Hamdan Bin Rashid Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance comes within the framework of strengthening means of joint cooperation with local and international institutions to care for the gifted and to achieve the authority’s vision and strategy aimed at enhancing the quality of life of the educational community, and spreading the culture of Innovation and creativity, supporting talented students, taking into account individual differences among students, promoting the integration of people with special needs and developing the personal, life and cognitive skills of learners.
Al-Marzouqi praised the theses and ideas that were presented, which were characterized by seriousness, objectivity and excellence, and striving to provide teaching staff, parents, specialists and program implementers with the best modern methods in developing the talent sector in the country and adopting the best international practices in discovering, developing and nurturing the talented.
For his part, Dr. Jamal Al Muhairi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Secretary-General of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance, stressed the importance of the forum as it is one of the forums specialized in the fields of talent in the region, by focusing on topics characterized by uniqueness and reviewing many issues and challenges related to integrating talented students and distinguished students in regular classes, along with the latest solutions, means, and scientific and practical proposals followed in this regard.
He explained that the event constituted an important platform through which the participants discussed the role of gifted programs in developing social skills, emotional and intellectual intelligence, and mechanisms to support and build the capacities of teachers and parents, in addition to its distinction by containing direct applied examples and operational steps that can be adopted and adapted in light of renewed field needs.
For her part, Anoud Al Amiri, Head of the Learners Care and Activities Department at the Sharjah Special Education Authority, stressed that the pivotal and influential role played by the level of qualification and awareness of teachers, parents and specialists in the fields of gifted education who deal with talented students directly, calls for the continuity of the qualification process for them to be able to identify On the academic and psychological challenges they face, and provide them with appropriate care.
