Auction: An iPhone 1 sold for more than 40,000 euros
At an auction, a buyer landed the very first iPhone for just over 40,000 euros.
January 9, 2007 marks a revolution: Steve Jobs, Apple’s boss presents the first iPhone. Launched at 400 euros, it then saw its price halved. Far from the exorbitant price of the latest models presented this year displayed at nearly 1,700 euros.
Still, for this iconic model, collectors are ready to pay the price: during an auction organized by LCG Auctions, the iPhone 1, still locked in its original box, was sold for 39,339.60 dollars over the weekend. -end last, a little over 40,000 euros.
“We expected bidding for this item to be fierce and we weren’t disappointed as a handful of avid collectors bumped the price from just over $10,000 on Sunday followingnoon to this record high. Sunday night,” said LCG Auctions founder Mark Montero.
A model including 8 GB of storage and a 2 megapixel camera once morest 128 GB of storage and a 12 megapixel camera for the iPhone 14.
This isn’t the first time the first iPhone has hit auction highs: Last August, a model sold for more than $35,000.
