Arsenal continue their flawless run in the Europa League. The Gunners picked up their fourth success in four outings on Thursday, winning 1-0 once morest PSV Eindhoven thanks to a success from their Swiss international Granit Xhaka.
Dominating, coach Mikel Arteta’s men had to wait until the 71st minute to force the decision in a match originally scheduled for September 15 but postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Xhaka then found the fault with a superb half-volley with his right foot armed at the penalty spot.
This victory allows Arsenal to take a 5-point lead over PSV Eindhoven at the top of this group A. The Gunners are guaranteed to finish at worst in 2nd place, qualifying for the C3/C1 play-offs, and are very well placed to take 1st place. The 2 teams will meet next Thursday in the Netherlands.
FC Zurich will try to get their first points by hosting Bodö / Glimt.
