Corona 19 outbreak and vaccination status in Korea (October 20)
1. Current status of COVID-19 outbreak in Korea
□ The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Headquarters: Director Baek Kyung-ran) had 249 people in critical condition (an increase of 6 people from the previous day) and 23 people (a decrease of 20 people from the previous day) among their resources as of 00:00 on October 20, with a cumulative death toll of 28,922. fatality rate (0.11%).

○ Among hospitalized patients today, 214 (85.9%) patients aged 60 years or older were in critical condition, and 23 patients (100.0%) were aged 60 years or older among the dead.

○ Of the 162 deaths reported in the 2nd week of October (10.9.~10.15.), 160 people (98.8%) were over 50 years old, and among them, 49 people (30.6%) were not vaccinated or had the primary vaccine. Or, the fatality rate is high in the first vaccination.

– As of the 2nd week of August, the age-standardized mortality rate by vaccination history among the total population over the age of 60 was 22.7 in the unvaccinated group (per 1 million people per day), 4.3 in the third inoculation group (per 1 million per day), and the 4th vaccination was completed. 2. Current status of COVID-19 treatment beds and home treatment
□ The total number of COVID-19 beds is 6,037. The bed utilization rate was 18.0% for very severe beds, 27.2% for semi-severe beds, and 12.3% for moderate beds. The utilization rate of life treatment centers is 15.5%. (As of 10.19. 17:00)
□ As of 00:00 on October 20, there are 140,398 home-treated patients. Yesterday, the number of new home-treated patients was 26,250 (15,150 in metropolitan areas, 11,100 in non-metropolitan areas).

– The daily average number of 1st immunizations was 185, 2nd immunizations 358, 3rd immunizations 1,776, 4th immunizations 3,020, and winter booster immunizations 45,293.
○ The cumulative number of primary inoculations is 45,117,979, the second is 44,686,587, the third is 33,632,377, the fourth is 7,507,127, and the winter booster inoculation is 439,544.
