Putin to Speak at the Plenary Meeting of the Valdai Club on October 27

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin will take part in the plenary meeting of the Valdai Club. The question of whether his speech will be face-to-face or via videoconference remains open. It will take place on October 27th.

“We expect, yes, that he usually speaks at the main plenary session, of course,” said Mr. Peskov, answering the relevant question (quoted by TASS).

He noted that the nuances are being finalized, and allowed a mixed format for the speech of the head of state. “Still, taking into account some remaining restrictions on covid, it cannot be ruled out that there will be some kind of mixed format,” the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation said.

The 19th Annual Meeting of the Valdai Club will take place on October 24–27 in Moscow. Its theme is “The World After Hegemony: Justice and Security for All”. More than 110 experts, politicians, diplomats and economists from 41 countries, including Afghanistan, Brazil, Germany, Egypt, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, USA, Turkey, France, Uzbekistan, South Africa and others will take part in the meeting.
