If you practice video games regularly, you have surely already experienced the closure of the servers of one of the titles on which you have fun. But some games keep servers for a very long time, which causes several publishers to shut down in waves.

All publishers end up, one day or another, shut down their game servers the oldest, or the least practiced.

Closings scheduled for tomorrow

Maintaining servers has a certain cost, and the players or dedicated staff are no longer enough to keep them active. Ubisoft has closed the servers of several Assassin’s Creed gamesRayman Legends or Splinter Cell Blacklist , Far Cry 3 and Silent Hunter 5, Nintendo has ended or will close a number of services on its old consoles, in short, nobody cuts it, not even Electronic Arts. Holder of numerous licenses, EA has also developed many titles with a multiplayer dimension, even when it comes to secondary features implemented in single-player games.

It is the famous site TrueAchievement which spotted a list of games including servers and online features will soon no longer be supported. Several consequences are therefore to be expected.
