Harrison Bader makes home run history with the Yankees

CLEVELAND – Although many Yankees fans did not welcome the trade of left-hander Jordan Montgomery for the outfielder Harrison Bader midway through the regular season, the second has changed the minds of many of them in the American League Division Series between the Bronx Bombers and the Guardians.

In Game 4 of that series on Sunday, Bader hit a two-run homer in the second inning off Cleveland starter Cal Quantrill. It was the third home run in four games this postseason for Bader, who due to injury didn’t even make his Yankee debut until Sept. 20 following moving from St. Louis to New York.

With his three homers in this series, Bader has tied Charlie Keller for the most homers in his first four postseason games with the Yankees. Keller had two in Game 3 and one more in Game 4 as a rookie in the 1939 World Series once morest the Reds, helping New York sweep Cincinnati.

For Bader, it was his first three homers in a Yankees uniform, as he didn’t hit the fence in 14 games with the team in the regular season.
