Around the residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul, where President Yoon Seok-yeol and his wife Kim Kun-hee will move in.

From the entrance of the road leading to the residence, security is strict, so photography is not allowed.

Since August 31, the area around the official residence has been designated as a military facility protection area.

At the end of May, we selected a government building remodeling company through a private contract and carried out the construction worth KRW 1.24 billion.

Since then, the security of the area has been further strengthened by designating it as a military facility protection area, but the occupancy has not taken place for more than five months following the inauguration.

“(Relocation of the official residence) That’s not an important issue. Now, it seems that safety measures, safety, and so on are all over, so now I have to prepare for moving, but I’m busy right now…”

It is known that large household items such as furniture are quite filled, and moving items are being moved little by little from the residence in Seocho-dong.

However, the presidential office is avoiding answering the exact date of the move, saying, “We will inform you naturally.”

An official from the presidential office said at a briefing today, “We are conducting a security and safety check on the Hannam-dong diplomatic mission, and this is almost the last check.”

As for the reason for the delay in moving in, he explained, “It took a long time to prepare security facilities because the Foreign Minister’s official residence is much older than expected.”

The opposition has already been compensated more than 100 times in the past five years.

We are asking the Minister of Foreign Affairs who carried out the construction to disclose what additional construction was done.

“It is deplorable that the presidential office is disclosing construction details and ignoring reasons for delays in moving in as much as the public’s blood has been paid.”

He also pointed out that the public needs a convincing explanation for the reason why the move-in is delayed as the residents around the residence in Seocho-dong are also experiencing inconvenience due to the president’s commuting to work.
