In Minnesota, one in six residents, or approximately 870,000 people, has Norwegian origins. With its large community of Norwegian descendants, this state of 5.7 million inhabitants keeps traces of this Scandinavian influence through institutions, organizations and schools. Queen Sonja was invited to inaugurate Norway House this Sunday, October 16, 2022 in Minneapolis. This new cultural building houses a gallery, an event space and a library specifically for genealogical research. The Norway House is therefore equipped with more important cultural and research spaces. Those in charge of the place took advantage of the presence of the wife of King Harald V to present the program of their activities for this year.
