Panthers vs. Rams – Game Report – October 16, 2022

Los Angeles ended a two-game losing streak by bouncing back from a poor start once morest Carolina with a big second-half reaction.

INGLEWOOD (AP) — Matthew Stafford threw for 253 yards, Darrell Henderson and wide receiver Ben Skowronek had rushing touchdowns in the second half and the Los Angeles Rams snapped a two-game losing streak with a 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers this Sunday.

Allen Robinson caught a touchdown pass for the Rams (3-3), defending Super Bowl champions, rebounding following two ugly losses in a row and a new offensive line injury to spoil Steve Wilks’ debut as interim head coach of the Panthers.

Wilks took over when Matt Rhule was fired last Monday, and the former Arizona coach must resolve some drama on his team beforehand. He apparently sent wide receiver Robbie Anderson to the locker room shortly following an argument between the player and receiving coach Joe Dailey.

Donte Jackson returned an interception 30 yards to the end zone for the Panthers (1-5), who have lost three in a row. Christian McCaffrey had 158 total yards, but PJ Walker threw for just 60 yards in his third start in the absence of injuries to Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold and Matt Corral.

Walker left the game in the fourth quarter with a neck injury following clearing concussion protocol. Jacob Eason, promoted from the practice squad this week, threw for 59 yards with Carolinawhose offense was scoreless following a field goal on his first drive.

Los Rams they trailed 10-7 in the first half, but took control in the second.
