(Belga) Disturbances might take place from the beginning of this week at BSCA, the notice filed in the union common front to respond to the dissatisfaction of the security staff of the company Security Master expiring this Sunday, warns the airport carolo.
The dissatisfaction of the workers is due to the decision of BSCA Security, in charge of safety and security at Charleroi airport, to award the future public contract relating to the management of filtering inspection posts, i.e. checks security to which passengers are subject in order to access the boarding gates, to two operators instead of just one. According to the management, recurring problems have indeed been encountered over the past five years when a single supplier has to deal with this mission due to the fluctuations encountered in passenger transport. “In order to ensure the continuity of the service, the sharing of this mission between two suppliers is essential”, she affirms in a press release. “This sharing between two suppliers will have no influence on the guarantee of employment, nor on the level of remuneration. Union representativeness is also guaranteed,” adds management. A meeting was held with Security Master workers who still refuse to be split between two suppliers. “Their principled position is contrary to the interests of our passengers and our airlines even though their rights are strictly respected. Even if we can understand the natural fears of workers linked to a change of employer, it is not admissible to try to defeat a public contract”, concludes the management. (Belga)
