Chinese President Xi Jinping announced Sunday that his country will continue to reform and develop the army to achieve its goal of building a world-class army by the centenary of the Chinese army in 2027.

“Realizing the goal of one hundred years of struggle to build an army on schedule and accelerating the transformation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army into a world-class leading military force is a strategic requirement for the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country,” Xi stressed, in a speech at the opening of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China. .

In his speech, the Chinese president also stressed the need to embody the Communist Party’s idea of ​​strengthening the military, “the insistence on reforming the army, increasing its fighting capacity by benefiting from scientific and technological progress and brains, and managing the army in accordance with the law.”

The Chinese president also called for the urgent modernization of military doctrine, the way the army is organized, and weapons and military equipment.

Towards a leading global power

On the other hand, the Chinese president said, “The Communist Party considers it necessary to speed up the process of transforming the country into a leading world power in terms of developing manufacturing technologies, space exploration, transportation, networks and product quality.”
