55.5 percent increase in Chinese auto exports during the first nine months of 2022

BEIJING, Oct. 15, 2022 (Xinhua) China’s auto exports rose 55.5 percent year on year to 2.11 million units during the first nine months of this year, according to industry data.

More than 1.69 million passenger cars were exported during the cited period, an increase of 60.1 percent over the same period last year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

The country’s commercial vehicle exports increased by 39.2 percent year on year, to 422,000 units in the same period, according to the association.

New energy vehicles have become a bright spot in China’s auto exports, with 389,000 units exported between January and September, up more than 100 percent from the previous year.

In September alone, China’s auto exports rose 73.9 percent year on year to 301,000 units, according to the data.
