Dubai (Etihad)

Dubai Cares, part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, and award-winning author Flavel Montero launched the “Meal. feed. Taaleem” with the aim of collecting donations to support the education of disadvantaged children around the world, in conjunction with the World Food Day, which the world celebrates on October 16 of each year.
The initiative, which runs until December 31, 2022, seeks to provide a platform for diners from all over the UAE to turn their passion for food into an opportunity to empower underprivileged children, by giving them the opportunity to obtain a proper education by supporting Dubai Cares’ school feeding programmes.

The unique initiative includes 7 signature dishes named following the seven emirates of the UAE, prepared by renowned chefs from 7 restaurants across Dubai.
Food lovers from all over the country can support the “Meal. feed. Education” by visiting participating restaurants and ordering a dish specially prepared for this initiative, provided that the proceeds of the initiative will be directed to support the school feeding programs of Dubai Cares.
It is worth noting that the lack of access to nutritious school meals negatively affects the future of millions of the world’s poorest children.
School feeding programs help provide incentives for the most disadvantaged children to return to school, as they contribute to improving school enrollment and retention, reducing economic burdens on families, enhancing nutrition levels for children in malnourished and stunted countries, and supporting the local economy.
