A motorist ends up embedded in swings in Saint-Léonard

More fear than harm for a motorist who, following demolishing a fence, ended up in a children’s park on Saturday morning in the borough of Saint-Léonard in Montreal.

The 43-year-old man lost control of his vehicle on boulevard des Grandes Prairies in the borough of Saint-Léonard on Saturday morning at 8:25 a.m., crashing into the Antonio Spada park playground.

“The vehicle veered off Viau Boulevard, hit a fence, ransacked a set of patios and continued its course in the park to end up in swings,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant, public relations officer for the SPVM.

According to the first information from the Montreal Police Service, he was not alcoholic and the police do not know what might have caused such an accident.

Luckily the playground was empty at the time, and no one was hurt.
