Who among us does not suffer or know someone who suffers from tremor or tremor?
But what is this situation and what are its causes? How is the treatment? We will learn regarding all of that in this article.

Tremor can be defined as an involuntary muscle contraction that leads to jerking movements in one or more parts of the body. It is a common movement disorder that often affects the hands but may occur in the arms, head, vocal cords, trunk, and legs as well.

Although tremors can occur at any age, they occur more often in middle-aged and older adults, and the disorder generally affects men and women equally, and the tremor may be intermittent (occurring at separate times) or constant.

Tremors are classified as:

1- Essential or benign essential tremor: This is one of the most common types and usually affects the hands, but it can also affect the head, voice, tongue, legs, and trunk.

2- Parkinson’s tremor: It is a common symptom in people with Parkinson’s disease. It usually affects one or both hands when they are at rest, but can affect the chin, lips, face, and legs.

3- Nervous tremor: A nervous tremor occurs in people who suffer from dystonia, which is a movement disorder in which the muscle contractions are involuntary, and the contractions cause repetitive movements and may affect any muscle in the body.

Tremor causes:
The main cause of tremor is unknown, but it often occurs due to a problem in the deep parts of the brain that control movements, and it can also occur due to genetics and some other factors, including the following:

1_ Taking some medications such as asthma medications, amphetamines, caffeine, and medications used in some mental and neurological disorders.

2_ Neurological disorders including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and brain injury.

3_ Anxiety or panic.

4_ Hyperthyroidism.

5_ Abstain from alcohol.

6_ mercury poisoning.

7_ liver or kidney failure.

8_ Low blood sugar.

9_ old age

Tremor treatment:

A person’s symptoms may be mild enough not to require treatment, and although there is no cure for most forms of tremor, treatment options are available to help control symptoms. Or get rid of tremors caused by health problems using multiple treatments.

For example, if the tremor is caused by a drug being taken, stopping the tremor may reduce or eliminate the tremor, and the tremor caused by hyperthyroidism will improve or resolve with treatment of the thyroid disorder.

If there is no underlying cause for the tremor that can be modified, available treatment options include:

Medicines which include:

• Beta-blockers are usually used to treat high blood pressure, but they also help treat essential tremor.

Anti-seizure medications are effective in people with tremor who do not respond to beta-blockers.

Sedatives, which may temporarily stop the shivers.

Parkinson’s disease medications to treat tremor associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Botulinum toxin injections, which may treat almost all types of tremors, are particularly useful for tremors that generally do not respond to medication, but may cause muscle weakness.

Surgery: A doctor may recommend surgical interventions such as Deep Brain Stimulation when people do not respond to drug treatments or experience a severe tremor that significantly affects their daily lives, but some of the more common side effects of tremor surgery include dysphasia (problems in speech) and balance problems.

Focused ultrasound: The treatment is approved for those individuals with essential tremor who don’t respond well to medication. shivering;

Physical therapy, speech language, and occupational therapy can all contribute to controlling tremor. A physical therapist can help people improve their muscle control, performance, and strength by performing multiple exercises and using weights.

Finally, you are well, healthy and peaceful.
