Lim Tae-hee, superintendent of education in Gyeonggi-do, expressed his opposition to child rapist Kim Geun-sik’s admission to a rehabilitation facility in Uijeongbu.
Superintendent Lim said through social networking service (SNS) on the 15th, “I strongly oppose child rapist Kim Geun-sik’s admission to a rehabilitation facility in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi-do, and strongly urge him to reconsider.” There was no consultation with the province or the local community.”
Kim Geun-sik was sentenced to 15 years in prison for raping 11 female students in Incheon, Gyeonggi-do, Goyang, Siheung, and Paju in 2006, and was released from prison on the 17th.
After being released from prison, Kim Geun-sik plans to enter the Gyeonggi Northern Branch of the Korea Justice Protection and Welfare Service in Gajeong-dong, Uijeongbu.
Superintendent Lim pointed out, “In the area, there are various infant facilities as well as Gyeonggi Northern Science High School, Uijeongbu High School, Gyeongmin High School, and Nokyang Middle School.
“The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will do its best to ensure that the safety of students is not neglected,” he said.
