New crossover Mazda CX-60 debuted last spring and is gradually acquiring new modifications. The rechargeable hybrid version with a four-cylinder aspirated 2.5 and an electric motor with a total power of 327 hp became the title. The range also has a basic modification with the same 2.5 engine (188 hp) without electric suspension, as well as options with an in-line six-cylinder turbodiesel Skyactiv-D with a volume of 3.3 liters (200, 231 or 254 hp).
The plans initially include a gasoline “six”, but the advanced 3.0-liter e-Skyactiv X engine with a supercharger drive and a unique SPCCI (Spark Controlled Compression Ignition) workflow that combines spark ignition and compression is not yet ready. Mazda CX-60 with this engine will appear in regarding a year, and this engine will be used mainly in cars for Europe and Japan. In the meantime, another engine is ready – with a traditional ignition system.
The new in-line turbo six e-Skyactiv G with a volume of 3.3 liters is maximally unified with a similar diesel engine. It has direct fuel injection and produces 284 hp. and 450 Nm. The transmission is the same as that of other modifications of the “sixties”: an eight-speed “automatic” with a wet clutch instead of a torque converter, all-wheel drive with a front axle coupling. Already next year Mazda CX-60 with such engine will appear in the markets of Australia and New Zealand. Deliveries to other countries are unlikely, but later the same 3.3 engine will go to platform crossovers for America – these are the already announced CX-70 and CX-90 models.
