Anne Haug sure after Ironman in Hawaii: Germany has to keep up

Haug: From an athlete’s point of view you think: oh crap, that’s unjustified. But I believe that no referee forgives something like that lightly. There are rules that you have to follow and I think it’s good that the rules are strictly enforced, because otherwise it’s just slipstreaming. But I would wish for the future that there were clear guidelines for athletes and referees. That it is not a judgement, but really verifiable. That you know exactly what punishment you will get for which offense. And that followingwards you can see in black and white what mistake you made. It’s always a matter of judgment, and I find that difficult. I would wish that in the future there would be valid methods for measuring the 12-meter distance.
