The police of the Haitian commune of Limbé detained a driver identified as Ronel, who transports food from the Pilatos community to Santo Domingo, following entering from Dominican territory with high caliber firearms and ammunition.
According to the police force, their agents in Limbé arrested Ronel immediately following his return to Haiti.
The authorities affirm that the man is a member of a gang that operates in communal section 8, of the Pilato town.
He also claims that he is the main supplier of weapons and ammunition to the gang, which he does not identify by name.
According to reports from neighbors to the police, people are very concerned regarding the insecurity that reigns in several towns in the commune
The situation is more serious because the number of police in the sub-station is very low and the gangs operate with impunity.
