Camilla Parker Bowles’ relationship in the British Royal family is still complicated, even though she has officially become the wife of King Charles III since 2005.

Always looking good with King Charles III, Camilla is rumored to have been the third person in Prince Charles’s household with Princess Diana years ago.

Before Prince Charles married Princess Diana in 1981, he and Camilla were lovers. However, their love did not unite so Prince Charles married Princess Diana.

But apparently, the household of Prince Charles and Princess Diana also did not run smoothly until they finally divorced and remarried Camilla.

Now that Prince Charles has ascended the throne to become king, Camilla has joined him as Queen Consort or Empress. Camilla in the family line is also the surrogate mother to Charles’ children, namely Prince Harry and Prince William.

However, the two princes had set strong boundaries regarding their relationship. According to royal writer Angela Levin, Prince William has specifically made it clear that the newly appointed Empress will never fill the role of his late mother, Princess Diana.

In his book entitled Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort, Levin revealed that Prince William was very firm in describing his children’s relationship with Camilla.

“William has made it clear that Camilla is his father’s wife, but not a step-grandmother to his children,” Levin said. InStyle.

Princess Diana died on August 31, 1997 in Paris, France. However, she and Prince Charles officially divorced in 1996. Nine years later, Prince Charles officially married Camilla.

Prince William and Prince Harry were 23 and 20 years old, respectively, when Camilla Parker Bowles officially became their stepmother in 2005.

Although not considered a grandmother, Levin said that Camilla, who has five grandchildren from her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, was fine with choosing not to be a step-grandmother to William and Harry’s children.

To recall, Camilla was married to Andrew Parker Bowles who was a British Army officer in 1973. However, they had divorced in 1995.

“She (Camilla) is also not trying to take over the responsibilities of being a step-grandmother to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Especially since Catherine’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, are very close,” said Levin.
