BTS has started cheering for Korea’s bid for the ‘2023 Asian Football Federation (AFC) Asian Cup (hereinfollowing referred to as the 2023 Asian Cup)’.

BTS filmed a video wishing for Korea to host the Asian Cup for the first time in 63 years, and this video was posted on the 12th on the representative social networking service of the government and the Korea Football Association.

In this video, Jimin said, “When the 2002 World Cup was held in Korea, the street cheering of millions of people surprised the world.

J-Hope added, “If Korea hosts it, it can be reproduced in June or July next year at that special moment.”

Jin said, “In particular, I am looking forward to the Asian Cup as it is preparing to become a sports culture festival where all Asians can come together. I hope,” he said.

Suga said, “It will become a football festival that attracts attention from all over the world, not only for the 24 participating teams, including Korea, but also for the fans of the 47 Asian member countries.”

V said, “I can imagine soccer fans who come to Korea because they like soccer to enjoy Korean culture and to visit Korea for a special soccer festival called the Asian Cup.”

Jungkook said, “If Korea hosts the Asian Cup in 2023, it will be the first Asian Cup in 63 years since 1960, so it will be a special Asian Cup.”

RM said, “We ask for your support so that the 2023 AFC Asian Cup can be successfully hosted.”

An official from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, “(For the 2023 Asian Cup), Korea, Qatar, and Indonesia are currently competing for a bid, and the final host country will be announced on October 17 next week. It can be turned into a festival of the people, where the enthusiasm of the people is united once, and a cultural and sports festival where Asians can come together,” he said.
