Microsoft is renaming its built-in Office apps on Windows as Microsoft 365. While the existing app is primarily used for quick access to Office apps, this new Microsoft 365 is designed to take full advantage of Microsoft’s Graph network to deliver additional apps, relevant documents, and a stream of meetings and information that might be useful for planning a day in advance.
Microsoft is rebranding its integrated Windows Office suite as Microsoft 365. The existing program is primarily used for quick access to Office services, and the new one will use the Microsoft Graph network to deliver additional software, documents, and appointment flow and information that may be useful in planning the day.
This new application will also not be limited to Microsoft’s commercial customers, as consumers and students will also be able to enjoy it. It will include regular access to Office apps, a stream of recent documents and files, and the ability to browse meetings.
It now includes all Microsoft apps, not just Office ones, and there’s even a section for third-party apps and enterprise apps. Then there’s a feed to see what meetings are coming up and personalized recommendations from Microsoft’s Graph Network.
