ABU DHABI, 12th October/WAM/ Counselor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, Attorney General of the State, participated in the 14th meeting of Excellencies, Representatives and Public Prosecutors of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was held via video communication technology.
The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the development of the work of the Public Prosecutions and Public Prosecution in the GCC countries, by providing advanced work mechanisms to present future visions, identify means of strategic development for the work of Public Prosecutions, exchange experiences and experiences, and discuss decisions and proposals that enhance Gulf rapprochement and integration in the work of the Public Prosecution. To improve the performance of penal work in order to achieve the development goals of the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
During the meeting, the experiences and practices of member states in consolidating the rule of law and achieving prompt justice were presented. The State Public Prosecution reviewed the pioneering efforts of the UAE, which enabled it to achieve the lead in the “Global Rule of Law” index at the level of the Arab countries and the Middle East and North Africa region, in The directives of the wise leadership that attach great importance to achieving justice and consolidating the rule of law, as the UAE has one of the most developed penal labor systems in the world, in addition to its legislative structure that enjoys the highest levels of flexibility, efficiency and ability to keep pace with future changes.
The attendees were also briefed on the recommendations of the meeting of the assistants of the House of Representatives at their thirteenth meeting, which was held in September 2022, in addition to a number of topics related to the work of the Public Prosecutions and Public Prosecution in the GCC countries.
The meeting was attended by the State Public Prosecution, Counselor Sultan Ibrahim Al-Juwaid, Acting Senior Advocate, Haitham Al-Shawka, Head of the Public Prosecution Office of Fujairah College, and Ali Saeed Al-Zeyoudi, Director of the International Judicial Cooperation Department at the Public Prosecution.
