The Catholicos of the Cilicia House of Armenian Catholics, Patriarch Raphael Pedros XXI Minassian, met with Dorothy Shea, the US ambassador to Lebanon, at the patriarchate’s headquarters in Geitawi, and congratulated her on “all that she has done for the sake of Lebanon, especially with the American mediator, Amos Hochstein, and the success of the negotiations that will lead to to the demarcation of the maritime borders, and this historic achievement will lead to positive effects that are in the interest of Lebanon.”

In the economic aspect, Patriarch Minassian referred to the living situation and what the banks are going through, noting that “Ambassador Shea confirmed that the banks will take the path of recovery soon.” She explained that “the electricity will be in a state of renewal soon, and work is underway to reach an agreement in this context with Egypt, and to renew the kilowatt.” The Patriarch replied, emphasizing that “the people are now unable to pay the renewed bills.”

He stated that “Shea confirmed that the country will take the path of recovery soon,” praising the relations between the Patriarchate and the US Embassy.
