Expectations continue to rise for a truce in the Russian-Ukraine war.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian foreign minister might accept a mirror summit with US President Joe Biden.

According to Archyde.com on the 11th (local time), Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that if the U.S. makes a proposal for a summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Joe Biden on the same day, it might be actively considered.

Minister Lavrov mentioned the possibility of a summit between Putin and Biden on the occasion of the G20 summit to be held in Bali, Indonesia next month.

“We don’t refuse to talk,” he stressed.

“If there is an offer, we will consider it,” he said. Recently, the White House National Security Council Strategic Communicator John Kirby dismissed a statement that the US was open to dialogue but Russia refused, calling it a “blatant lie.”

Earlier, Russian President Putin had already mentioned the possibility of using nuclear weapons in the Ukraine war on several occasions.

US President Joe Biden emphasized that nuclear weapons would be ‘Armageddon’.

He also warned that the nuclear risk might become a reality.

In the Vatican’s St. Peter’s Square, with 50,000 believers gathered, Pope Francis urged us not to forget the danger of nuclear war that threatened the world in the mid-1960s during the canonization ceremony.

He also asked the world to gather wisdom, saying, “Even then, conflict and tension were high, but in the end, I chose the path of peace.”
