Within the framework of the Medical and Health Olympics taking place in Posadas, the symposium ‘Medicine and Health: two concepts, one goal’ was held yesterday.
The Knowledge Park was the venue for the conference that featured Alejandro Rolón, a specialist in Musculoskeletal Imaging Diagnosis, medical director of Himan, in charge of the Sports and Traumatology area of Imaxe and doctor of the Argentine soccer team.
“I am very happy to be here, in this wonderful city that is also part of my life because my family is from Posada,” said the professional.
They were also part of the panel of exhibitors: Martín Petrelli, current kinesiologist of the Ecuadorian team; Marcelo Mariño, a clinical doctor specializing in psychoneurobiology and clinical obesity, who is also president of the Internal Medicine Specialty Evaluation Court; Claudio Marucci, a sports traumatologist, works at the Spanish hospital Rosario; and Martín De Elía, orthopedic doctor specializing in orthopedic reconstructive surgery and bone lengthening.
The event, which has a curricular score for professionals and delivery of certificates, was aimed at the sports field and covered the three main circuits that are carried out before the diagnosis of injury: diagnostic imaging -and the different treatments that include kinesiology-, traumatology and psychology.
In this way, the Olympics not only offer a sports agenda but also an academic one, understanding the importance of research and training for the excellence of medicine and health promotion.
As explained by the organization of the Olympics, this meeting sought to stimulate professional and technical training, the promotion of research, the development of culture, health, sports and effective integration in the community.
Among its objectives were: to improve the quality of care for people who perform physical activity; develop technical teaching activities that contribute to the solution of social needs and the development of amateur sports in the country and the region; and contribute to the resignification of physical activity in the framework of health prevention.
