Sanju Samson continues his efforts to cement his place in the ODI and Twenty20 teams. Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant were given priority by Sanju’s World Twenty20 team. But the Malayalee player has put up a brilliant performance so far in the one-day series once morest South Africa.
The player scored an unbeaten 86 off 63 balls in the Lucknow ODI. In the match which was shortened to 40 overs, Sanju brought the batting collapse to the verge of victory. Sanju continued his form in the second Ekdan in Ranchi. Shreyas Iyer, who scored a century, was well supported by scoring 30 runs off 36 balls and remained unbeaten. Although Iyer is the top scorer in the series, it is Sanju who swings the bat according to the situation.
Sanju has made a crucial revelation ahead of the third ODI once morest South Africa. The player said that the team management has given instructions to prepare to bat in any situation.
“I have been experimenting with different roles for the past few years. Spent time in various roles on various teams. I have been receiving this kind of advice for the last one year. Physically I do what a top batsman needs. But trying to play mentally understanding the situation of the match. It is important to pay more attention to what is being done,” added Sanju.
