The Kansas City Chiefs won once morest the Las Vegas Raiders (30-29) Monday at the end of the fifth day of the NFL regular season. Kansas City leads the AFC West with four wins and has the best record in the American Conference, tied with the Buffalo Bills. Despite a good performance on Monday, the Raiders continue to suffer at the start of the season. They are last in the same division.
Las Vegas started the game well, leading 17-0 in the second quarter and then 20-10 at the break. But the Chiefs began their comeback, led by the infernal tandem Patrick Mahomes – Travis Kelce. The first, Kansas City quarterback, threw for 292 yards and four touchdowns, all for Kelce, the tight end.
A final pass from Carr for Adams canceled
Derek Carr, the QB of the Raiders, also worked well (241 yards, two TD’s). And Davante Adams, the star receiver, took advantage of it: 124 yards in just three receptions and the two touchdowns of his team. Las Vegas running back Josh Jacobs also shone with 154 yards.
Late in the game, the Raiders were advancing through midfield and might have attempted the winning field goal. But a completed pass from Carr to Adams was ruled out by referees. And, on the following action, the two men did not find each other and Las Vegas had to return the ball to the opponent.
